The lending process on PinkGray is very similar to the ordering process. Except PinkGray does not charge a commission for lending requests and instead of marking orders as “Paid”, lending requests are marked as “Returned”.
When a press member or stylist places a lending request on PinkGray, the designer will be notified by email. The email will contain all the information regarding the lending request.
Every lending request has the following steps:
- Open: When an lending request is placed by the press, the lending request is “Open”. The designer receives an email of the lending request for review. If everything is okay, the designer goes to the PinkGray website to “Confirm” the lending request. Otherwise, the designer can make changes to the lending request through the website. After making the changes, the lending request will be emailed to the lendee for confirmation. Both parties will be able to make changes until the order is “Confirmed” by both parties. Besides the items being lended, both parties should agree on the shipping/pick up method and return date.
- Confirmed: Once the lending request is confirmed by both parties, the designer prepares the lending request.
- Shipped: When the lending request is ready for delivery, the designer can enter the shipping information or pickup information through PinkGray. This information is automatically emailed to the lendee.
- Returned: When the items are returned to the designer, the designer marks the lending request as “Returned”.
At anytime, the lending request can be marked “Cancelled”. However, only the designer can mark a lending request as “Cancelled”. The lendee must contact the designer directly to cancel a lending request.
Through all the steps, the information and date of each change is recorded. The designer is also able to enter notes which will be recorded in the lending request’s history. So all information regarding the lending request is available at any time, in one place.
Using PinkGray to Enter Already Placed Lending Requests
Just like orders, a designer can sign in to his/her account to place lending requests that were not received through PinkGray. Simply sign in to your account as you regularly would and place a lending request as if you were the lendee. Follow the check out process and place the lending request. |
